Bon Iver is an American rock band from Wisconsin that was formed by Justin Vernon, Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and Matthew McCaughan in 2006. The band has released one studio album to date and appeared on Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.'

About Bon Iver

Justin Vernon was spending a year alone in a cabin in northern Wisconsin recovering from some personal difficulties and found himself creating a very personal and ethereal sounding music. When he was done he found that not only did it resonate with his audience but got him a record deal and attracted all the musicians who eventually joined him in Bon Iver.

The album, 'For Emma, Forever Ago,' was released in 2008 and became an internationally acclaimed hit, driven by the single, ''Skinny Love.'' Justin Vernon was even contacted by music icon Peter Gabriel with a request to trade songs for a project he was working on.

Bon Iver has released two more albums, most recently, 'Volcano Choir.' The single, ''Roslyn'' with the band St. Vincent was released on the soundtrack for the film, 'New Moon' from the Twilight Saga.

In 2010, Bon Iver was featured on Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.'
