Bored

As a general rule, people would rather be occupied with something than nothing. When people are occupied with nothing, they exist in a state of boredom, which is usually a place people do not want to be in for very long. The best way to counter act boredom is to do something. If you're bored, let's try to find something to help you pass the time.

About Bored

Here are a list of activities that might help you combat boredom.

1. Try taking a walk. Taking a walk may sound like advice your mother might give you, but that's because its good advice. Walking provides you with a bit of exercise, it doesn't cost you any money, you can do it by yourself with your dog or in a group, you don't need a destination or purpose and sunlight provides you with some much needed vitamin d.

2. Read a book. Master Shake may not like to read, but he is also a talking cartoon milkshake. Books are good things, they can give you new points of view, you can learn things and some books are really really entertaining. Some of my favorites include ''The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy'' by Douglas Adams, ''Slapstick'' by Kurt Vonnegut, ''Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs'' by Chuck Klosterman, ''Me Talk Pretty One Day,'' by David Sedaris and ''Dharma Bums,'' by Jack Keroac.

3. Learn to play a musical instrument to start a band. Playing music can provide you with endless amounts of entertainment, or completely take over your life. Learning to play guitar for instance will give you a nearly bottomless hole to throw your money into and something to become very passionate about. Plus it gives you a reason to start a band. A word of advice, because drums are loud, expensive and difficult to play well; drummers are the hardest members of a band to find. Hint.

4. Make some art! Art is an awesome thing because it can be just about anything. You don't really need any special tools to draw a picture. Painting requires a surface to paint on, paint and a brush. If you find you suck as a painter, and you can't draw well either; collage requires no talent, just magazines and glue. Photography requires eyes and a camera. Art is what you make it.

5. Have you tried sports? My favorite organized sport is Kick Ball. It only requires three things; friends, a ball and a field. However shooting hoops in the park is a great way to spend a day, or maybe you'd rather swim, or ride bikes, skateboard, water ski, play baseball, football, soccer, hockey, four square, tether ball or make up your own sport. Nobody ever said you have to play an existing sport.
