There is no point in denying that homosexuality and its origins are touchy subjects. Some folks believe homosexuality is a choice, while most gay people say that is not. Science is simple. In order for something to be considered true, a phenomenon has to be repeatable – nothing in nature only happens once. So in order for there to be humans that are gay via genetics or some other pre-natal factor, there should be other examples in the natural world of same-sex sexual activity.

Well, there are a lot of those, as of 2005, there were over 450 documented cases of animals displaying same-sex sexual behavior. Male dogs mount male dogs all the time. Male Amazon River dolphins have been known to penetrate each other’s blowholes, male orangutans fellate each other, and there have been papers written about female-female pairings of albatrosses. So what does this say about humans? Nothing, just that same-sex sexual activity does exist in nature.

The science to determine if homosexuals are born or made is still being conducted, discussed, peer-reviewed and re-tested. Ultimately it does not matter if homosexuals are born or made because people are going to believe whatever they want to believe, and will use scientific conclusions to further their own agendas. What matters is that people, are in fact people, and deserve to be treated as such.
