Buick is an American automobile brand which sells vehicles under the division of General Motors. Buick is considered to be a mid-level luxury brand and holds the title of Americas oldest car maker.

About Buick

Founded in 1900, Buick originated as an independent motor company. In 1908, General Motors took control of Buick to help with financial troubles. This move would prove to be good decision as Buick would go on to lead the U.S in automobile production. Buick then found its name in the racing scene and won its first race in 1909 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, two years before the first Indy 500. By 1925 the Buick brand was being sold around the world and was a favorite among kings,politicians and the upper class.

Buick introduced numerous advancements in the automotive industry including the rear turn signal, the automatic transmission and the V6 engine. Buick would go on to receive awards for cutting edge styling, performance and luxury. By 1984, Buick sales hit a peak of over one million units sold per year. In 1990 Buick became the leader in supercharged engines and continued to emphasize their premium American styling.

The Buick division continues to build on their reputation of quality and remains to be one of the leaders in reliability.
