The Burns Paiute Tribe of the Burns Paiute Indian Colony of Oregon is a federally recognized tribe of Northern Paiute Indians in Harney County, Oregon, United States. They are primarily the descendants of the Wadatika band of Northern Paiutes who traditionally lived in Central and Southern Oregon. The tribe has a federal reservation in Harney County, the Burns Paiute Reservation and Trust Lands, also known as the Burns Paiute Indian Colony, located north of the city of Burns. The reservation comprises 11,944 acres (48.34 km). In 1990, 151 tribal members lived on the reservation; in 1992, 356 people were enrolled in the tribe. The Burns Paiutes traditionally spoke the Northern Paiute language, which is part of the Western Numic branch of the Uto-Aztecan language family.
