The leading cause of death between the ages of 2 and 34 are car crashes. Excessive speed is one of the leading causes of all car accidents.

Statistics for teen car accidents are rather alarming. 36% of all teen deaths are caused by car accidents. The presence of multiple unsupervised teens in a car increases the risk of crashes as do the young drivers' inability to judge hazardous road conditions. Teens tend to not use seat belts as well. Teens are also more likely to be distracted while driving. Studies show that teens do admit to texting while driving and talking on the phone.
