Chevelle

Chevelle

Chevelle is an American rock band from Illinois. They have sold over three million records and are a favorite on modern rock radio stations.

About Chevelle

The rock band Chevelle was formed when brothers, Joe, Matt and Sam Loeffler began playing music together in their garage. They named their band in homage to their love of fast cars. The youngest brother, Joe, was only 14 years old when they began performing live. After playing small shows for three years, the group was signed by Squint Entertainment under which they released their first album Point #1.’

Chevelle toured with bands such as Sevendust, Powerman 5000, Machine Head and Filter for a few years and then signed with Epic Records. In 2002, they released their second album, Wonder What’s Next,’ which peaked at #14 on the Billboard charts and produced hit singles such as The Red, Closure and Send the Pain Below. The success of their album led them to co-headline Ozzfest in 2003.

After the release of their third album, youngest brother Joe abruptly left the band causing many rumors to fly. Did he leave the band? Was Joe fired? Soon the band’s official website posted clarification stating that Joe left on his own accord to take a break and be with friends and family. Not long after this statement was released, Joe spoke up saying he was fired. Both parties continued to claim their reason for the departure was the true reason. Joe was replaced by brother-in-law Dean Bernardini.

Despite the change in line-up Chevelle continued on their road to success pumping out two more albums. Both of which were well received by old fans as well as new. They also toured with Evanescence, Finger Eleven, Strata, Halestorm and Adelita’s Way. They also released a DVD titled Any Last Words’ on January 11, 2011 that was filmed at The Metro in Chicago in celebration of their 10th anniversary.
