About Chris Colfer

Known for: His portrayal of character Kurt Hummel on Glee.

Chris Colfer is a very talented American actor appearing on the award winning television series Glee (2009). He began acting in high school and even wrote a screen play when he was a junior. In high school he was known for being very intelligent and articulate, and won many debate and speech championships.

His big break came when he auditioned for a role on the new television series Glee (2009). He didn’t get the part he first auditioned for, but impressed the directors so much they wrote him in as character Kurt Hummel. This character is now one of the most popular on the show.

Chris is also openly gay, not just portraying this with his character. He has said that his family is supportive of him but high school was rough and he suffered bullying because of it. He hopes his character has a positive effect on kids and brings them some enjoyment.

Chris also has around 15 singles on the Glee soundtracks. He has a superb voice and can really hit those notes. He has also won to top awards, the 2010 Golden Globe for Best Television Series- Comedy or Musical and the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Awesome achievement for such a young man!
