Chupacabra

Chupacabra

A chupacabra (Spanish for goat-sucker) is a legend in Latin America. It is believed to suck the blood of livestock. Though people claimed to have seen the famous animal in Puerto Rico in 1995, its existence has been largely debunked.

About Chupacabra

Once the creature was apparently sighted in Puerto Rico in 1995, and other sightings have been reported in numerous Central and Latin American countries. Scholars have since attributed the chupacabra animal killings to coyotes with mange. Their hairlessness made them difficult to recognize. Other animals, such as a hairless raccoon, have been found dead in the area of chupacabra sightings.
