Clash of the Titans

'Clash of the Titans' is a 2010 fantasy movie that's loosely based off of the Greek myth about the hero Perseus, who defeated Medusa. Upon doing so, Perseus declares Andromeda his wife and saves her from a sea monster. Sam Worthington, the lead from the box office hit 'Avatar', plays Perseus in the film.

About Clash of the Titans

Fast on the heels of his success as a star of the mega-hit 'Avatar', Sam Worthington stars in the remake of the 1981 movie classic 'Clash of the Titans,' released in theaters in 3-D on April 2, 2010.

The 1981 movie has stationed itself in movie history as being one of the last and greatest movies to use stop-motion, which quickly became archaic after the special effects of 'Star Wars'.

'Clash of the Titans' is based loosely on the Greek myth of Perseus, the hero of Greek mythology who killed the snake-haired Medusa and claimed Andromeda as his wife, after rescuing her from a sea monster.

The cast of this fantasy film features several Hollywood heavy hitters, including Ralph Fiennes as Hades, god of the underworld, and Liam Neeson as Zeus. Alexa Davalos stars as Andromeda, because what is a hero without a beautiful babe to rescue?

Davalos played Daniel Craig's love interest in the movie 'Defiance' (2008).

As he did in 'Avatar,' Worthington plays a warrior who has to transform himself in order to become truly great. In this case he must accept his fate as a demigod and take charge of his own destiny.

'Clash of the Titans' is also a video game by Game Republic, and published by Namco Bandai Games America Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive. The video game released close to the movie's premier. Players play the role of Perseus and follow the film's story line.
