Caillat was first noticed because of her popularity on MySpace. She then put out a single called Bubbly which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Pop 100. Two other singles were soon to follow, Realize (#20, Hot 100) and The Little Things (#94, Pop 100). Since then she has worked with artists such as, Jason Mraz, The Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, Taylor Swift and John Mayer.

On December 2, 2009, Colbie's second album, 'Breakthrough,' was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 52nd Grammy Awards. She was also nominated twice for Best Pop Collaboration for her work on Taylor Swift's 'Breathe' and Jason Mraz's 'Lucky.'
