Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at a common point which is an area known as Four Corners. The climate in Colorado varies by elevation. About Colorado

On February 28, 1861 outgoing President James Buchanan signed an act of congress setting up the free Territory of Colorado. The Colorado River was believed to originate in the territory, which is where the state name of Colorado comes from. On August 2, 1876 President Ulysses S. Grant signed a proclamation to admit the state into the union as the 38th state.
