The Colorado Rockies are MLB team based out of Denver, Colorado. The organization was established in 1991. The team started playing MLB games in 1993 as part of the National League, competing in the West Division. The Rockies earned their nickname due to the Rocky Mountains which pass through Colorado.

About Colorado Rockies

The home field of the Rockies is Coors Field, which is located in downtown Denver. The Official colors of the Rockies black, purple, silver, and white. The official team mascot is Dinger, a purple anthropomorphized triceratops. The Rockies, who are still a relatively young franchise, have made the playoffs only 3 times (1995, 2007, and 2009).

The Rockies have struggled for success for many years, but after multiple losing seasons, the Rockies finally won the National League Pennant for the first time in 2007.

Most recently the Colorado Rockies have found success through the arm of Ubaldo Jimenez, who is currently looking to become the first pitcher in Rockies history to win 18 games in a season. Another huge milestone for Jimenez is that he has thrown the only no-hitter in Rockies history. The historical feat was accomplished when the Rockies faced the Atlanta Braves on April 17, 2010.
