About Comic Book Artist

Comic book artists became very popular in the 1930’s. Many comic book artists began as comic strip artists whose strips ran in newspapers. The first comic books were a collection of comic strips. Comic books then became a type of story book bringing to life superheroes, monsters, horror stories and so much more.

Some of the most famous comic book artists brought to life the American superhero. They included Superman, Spiderman and Batman. These characters are still popular today having come to life on the big screen and on television.

Top comic book artist Joe Shuster was responsible for the original Superman image along with his life long friend Jerry Siegel who wrote the story. Comic book artist Steve Ditko developed popular characters such as Spiderman and Dr. Strange and Artist Bob Kane and Bill Finger developed the character of Batman but Bob Kanes received the credit.
