About Creed

In 1994, friends and classmates Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti decided that they wanted to form a band. Soon they were joined by Brian Marshall, Scott Phillips and Brian Basher, and called themselves Naked Toddler. Just a short year later, Basher left the band and they renamed it Creed.

In 1997, they released their debut album My Own Prison.' The title song was well received by local radio stations in their home town of Tallahassee, Florida, which helped sales reach 6,000 copies in only two months. It wasn’t long before the band was picked up by a major record label and their album was on the Top 40 charts.

Creed’s second album, Human Clay,’ was released in 1999. The singles Higher and With Arms Wide Open did exceptionally well. Despite the band's success, the members were struggling with many personal issues. Unsavory comments from Brian Marshall regarding the writing styles of the band Pearl Jam lead to his departure of the band. By 2004, after the release of their third album the band decided it was time to split, and members went their separate ways to work on their own projects.

To fan’s delight; on April 27, 2009, a message appeared on the Creed website announcing the band’s reunion. By June, the band was performing live again, sounding better than ever. On October 27, 2009, the band released their first album in eight years, Full Circle,' a fitting name considering the band's troubled past. In 2010, the band embarked on a world tour to support the release with Skillet, Theft, Theory of a Deadman, Saving Abel and Red.
