Of course the dances get much more complicated and longer as players progress through the game. The game will feature over 600 different dance moves spanning over 90 dance routines. A mode entitled "Break it Down" will allow beginners to learn more advanced dance moves in a step-by-step process.
Reviews for Dance Central have been positive overall, which mainly focus on the fun party aspect of the game and the fact that it actually does teach a player to dance slightly better. Metacritic currently has the game listed at an 84/100.
