About David Cook

Known For: American singer/songwriter and winner of American Idol Season Seven.

David Cook accompanied his younger brother to the American Idol auditions. He originally planned not to audition but was urged by his mother and brother to do so. He performed Bon Jovi's Livin' On a Prayer and was sent to Hollywood. David won American Idol Season Seven on May 21, 2008, receiving 56% of the votes, with 12 million votes over David Archuleta.

On May 25, 2008 David Cook debuted eleven songs on the Billboard charts. This beat a record once held by Miley Cyrus who had six song on the charts at once. His first single The Time of My Life led the list, debuting at #3 on the Hot 100.
