About Dayton Leroy Rogers

Dayton Leroy Rogers (born September 30, 1953) is a serial killer presently residing on Oregon's death row at the Oregon State Penitentiary for six murders. He has been tied to the murders of seven women, one unidentified. He preferred street women, usually addicts, prostitutes and runaways. Six were found at a dump site located on privately owned forest lands outside of Molalla, Oregon, and thus he was dubbed the 'Molalla Forest Murderer.' Rogers was convicted in 1989 for six murders committed in 1987, and he was sentenced to death. His last victim was Jennifer Smith, whom he killed 7 August 1987. She was a convicted prostitute and drug addict. She was in his truck parked in a lot located off of SE Mcloughlin Boulevard in unincorporated Clackamas County, turning a trick, when he began to stab her in the legs and vagina. She fell out of the truck and died at the scene. Two men eating at a Denny's restaurant saw the attack and held Rogers captive until police arrived.
