Eliza Coupe (born April 6, 1981) is an American actress, most widely known for starring as Jane Kerkovich-Williams in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings and as Denise 'Jo' Mahoney in the final two seasons of the medical comedy-drama Scrubs. Coupe was born and raised in Plymouth, New Hampshire to parents Ernie and Kate. She has a two brothers Sam and Thom. Coupe attended Plymouth Regional High School in her hometown of Plymouth, New Hampshire and graduated in 1999. She was active in her high school's award-winning theatre program. Her roles included Bonnie in Anything Goes and a Mundy sister in Dancing at Lughnasa. Coupe graduated from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). After college, Coupe studied in improvisational comedy at The Groundlings and ImprovOlympic.
