Epsilon Sigma Rho is one of the oldest secret intercollegiate cultural interest fraternities, founded at California State University, Sacramento on March 2, 1986. It is known as the first multicultural fraternity in the United States. Epsilon Sigma Rho is committed to spreading the philosophy of acceptance of any and all people regardless of their ethnicity or background. As an organization, Epsilon Sigma Rho encourages people to learn about other cultures. One of the ways Epsilon Sigma Rho supports the cultural educational experience is by promoting cultural events in the community and within campuses. On March 2, 1986 eight men founded Epsilon Sigma Rho Fraternity at California State University Sacramento. Sigma Rho has seven founding members (these men are referred to by the fraternity as 'the Creators'): Juan Carlos Sanchez, Salvador Robles, Jose Munoz, Martin Rodriguez, Juan Mercado, Gerardo Manriquez, and David Jaramillo.
