About Eva Longoria

Known for: Starring as Gabrielle Solis on 'Desperate Housewives' and one of the sexiest women in the world.

One of the most attractive and stunning actresses around, Eva Longoria as a child growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas was known as la prieta fea or ugly dark one. She was considered a plain and ugly girl for many years as a youngster. Her Tejano family was very poor, often struggling to make ends meet on their farm which was handed down from generation to generation.

As she grew older, and more beautiful, Longoria began sending in photos of herself to modeling agencies in hopes of becoming a fashion model. She was regularly turned down because she was too short at a compact 5' 0. But while attending Texas A&M University-Kingsville and earning her BS in kinesiology, she competed and won the title of Miss Corpus Christi, USA in 1998. Two years later, the pace quickly picked up, and she was led to Los Angeles, CA through a talent show and starred in her first role on television.

Her first role was as a guest on 'Beverly Hills, 90210' in 2000. From 2000 to 2003, she would also appear on the soaps 'General Hospital' and 'The Young and the Restless', on which she spent three seasons starring as psycho girl Isabella Williams. After leaving 'The Young and the Restless', 2004 launched her to A-list status, starring as Gabrielle Solis on the hit ABC drama 'Desperate Housewives'.

From 2005 to 2006, Eva Longoria was named Maxim's #1 Hottest Female Star, the only person to win the title back-to-back. She was also named #7 on Maxim's Hot 100 list for 2007. Now a beautiful television actress, she finally is a model, landing on covers of magazines, and also acting as the spokes model for beauty brands such as L'Oreal.

From 2002 to 2004, Longoria was married to actor Tyler Christopher of 'General Hospital' fame. In November 2006, she and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker became engaged. They were married in a picturesque Roman Catholic wedding in Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois Church in Paris, France on Saturday July 7, 2007. However, on November 17, 2010, Eva Longoria filed for divorce from Parker following the revelation that was guilty of infidelity.

Parker and Longoria were divorced in January after their nearly four years of marriage. Just recently Longoria opened up about her divorce with Parker in an interview with Piers Morgan on April 7. Longoria apologized to Morgan for crying, saying that it was the first time she had spoke on their divorce. She also said that it was hard because she had for so long identified herself as Mrs. Parker and because her and Parker said they would never divorce.

In early 2011, Longoria was rumored to be dating Penelope Cruz's younger brother, singer Eduardo Cruz.
