About Everson Griffen

Born: Everson Griffen, December 22, 1987, in Avondale, Arizona
Known for: Defensive End for USC Trojans.

Coming out of High School Griffen was a blue chip football recruit who drew comparisons to Dwight Freeney and Jevon Kearse for his phenomenol speed for a player his size. Although he visited Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, and UCLA, Griffen decided to play college football at USC and was apart of a huge recruiting coup for then head coach Pete Carrol. Griffen's impact was immediately felt at USC, where he started as a freshman and was a top freshman defensive player in the country. Griffen continued to impress at USC and after his Junior year decided to forgo his Sr. year at USC to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. Going into the NFL draft, many experts, including Mel Kiper Jr., Mike Mayock and Todd Mcshay see Griffen as a 1st round talent, with skill similar to Dwight Freeney of the Indianapolis Colts.
