Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow

Arguably the most over-used makeup by some (R.I.P. Tammy Fay), eyeshadow is a cosmetic used to add color and definition to the eyes. It is available in powder, cream, and stick forms and is applied to the eyelids and under-brow area. Colors range from brights to naturals, and there are various types of eyeshadow application styles, such as the ''smokey eye.''

About Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow, in some form, has been used since ancient times and by both males and females. From ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans to Japanese serving girls of the 11th century, eyeshadow has a history much older than modern day.

Rumored to be made of fish scales, most eyeshadows are typically composed of minerals, like talc, magnesium, and mica, as well as colorants, preservatives, and some form of silicone.
