About FC Amkar Perm

FC Amkar Perm is a professional football club playing in Russian Premier League. They are based in the city of Perm. Amkar's home stadium is Zvezda Stadium, which was covered with artificial turf in 2005. Amkar appeared on May 5, 1993 when a team assembled of workers of Perm Mineral Fertilizers factory played the first match in the Cup of Perm city which they won. The next year Amkar became the champion of Perm Oblast and in 1995 Amkar became a professional club. In 2009 after a strong season, Amkar qualified for the Europa League and but lost to eventual runners-up Fulham, therefore missing out the group stage.
