About FC Lausanne-Sport

Lausanne-Sports (also referred to as LS) is a Swiss sports club based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is most famous for its football department (FC Lausanne-Sport), but the club also had athletics, sport rowing, and rink hockey departments until they split in 2009 over a row about the construction of a new stadium that will be built by 2015. The football-section was founded in 1896 under the name of Montriond Lausanne. However, the Lausanne Football and Cricket Club was established in 1860, believed to be the oldest football club on the European continent by some historians. The club took the name Lausanne-Sports FC in 1920
