Federal holidays are days that Federal employees observe. On federal holidays, the U.S. Post Office and banks are closed. Schools and universities also are typically closed on federal holidays.

About Federal Holidays

On federal holidays, all federal employees get the day off. If the holiday falls on a non-work day, then the federal holiday is observed on the closest work day.
