The first digital cameras to feature the General Electric brand name were introduced in March 2007. When it first released, the cameras are positioned as an alternative to existing brands. The GE camera brand is also known as General Imaging. But today, General Imaging has set a new precedent for high-quality, feature-rich cameras that offer excellent value, including the industry's first point-and-shoot camera with a retractable USB plug. In 2012, according to Gap Intelligence, General Imaging camera kicks off the year as the fastest growing mid-tier camera brand and based on PC World Realibility and Satisfaction survey was recognized by consumers as the second most reliable camera brand.
