If you want to keep your wedding simple, here are some ways to plan your wedding:

1) Location. One of the costliest parts of your wedding could be the location. See if there's a hall you can rent that isn't too expensive. Or, get married in your parents' home and have a small invitation list!
2) Order the food and cake locally. Do price comparisons and talk to your personal network. There may be an up-and-coming caterer who would like to get started and will give you a good price.
3) Keep the list of guests small.
4) Make as many of the items you need at home as you can, such as invitations, wedding veils, centerpieces, and jewelery.
