About Gorilla Zoe

Known for: Rapper, member of Boyz n da Hood and solo artist

Gorilla Zoe (rhymes with Joe) got his first taste of celebrity when he became a member of the rap group Boyz n da Hood. He replaced band member Young Jeezy who left the band to pursue a solo career. A fan of Big Gee, Jody Breeze and Duke, Gorilla Zoe called it an honor to be chosen as a member of the group. Together they bring their gritty, street verses to their fans with a flavor that can only come from the hood itself.

In 2007 Gorilla Zoe released his first solo album, Welcome to the Zoo’. The highly anticipated album debuted at #18 on the charts and sold over 35,000 albums in its first week. With a successful solo project under his belt Gorilla Zoe headed back into the recording studio and released his second solo album in 2009. Don’t Feed da Animals’ hit number one on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart proving that Gorilla Zoe has what it takes to give his fans what they want.

In the Halloween season of 2010 fans will get a treat other than the traditional candy variety when Gorilla Zoe releases his interactive music video for the first single of his latest album. Vampire’ will debut on musicmatrix.com coinciding with the site’s upgrades. The album, King Kong’ is set to release soon after, on 10/26/10.
