Halloween

Halloween

Halloween was originally called All Saints Day, and was a Christian holiday. In its earliest form it was a day to celebrate one's dead ancestors and also to welcome the 'darker half' of the year. It is now an annual holiday that takes place on the last day of October, the 31st, every year. Do you have your costume yet?

About Halloween

Halloween has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. It was also called 'All Saints Day' when it was celebrated as a Christian holiday. It is now largely a secular holiday in which people have parties, dress up in costume, go 'trick or treating', and carve pumpkins. Haunted houses -- some very frightening ones -- have also become a tradition.
