Hanley Ramrez (born December 23, 1983 in Saman, Dominican Republic) is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop and third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball. Ramrez was the 2006 NL Rookie of the Year. In 2009, Ramrez won the NL batting title and in 2010 finished runner-up in the Home Run Derby. Ramrez is a three-time All-Star starter. Ramrez signed with the Boston Red Sox as an International Free Agent in July 2000. In 2002, with the Gulf Coast Red Sox he hit .341 and was selected as a Gulf Coast League and Rookie League All-Star. He was rated by Baseball America as the #10 prospect in baseball prior to the 2005 season, and with the Portland Sea Dogs he was selected as an Eastern League All-Star while hitting .271.
