About How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother’ is a CBS sitcom which tells the story of Ted and his quest to find the perfect girl to marry. The show is told through a series of flashbacks narrated by the Ted of the future as he is telling his children the story of how he met their mother. The Emmy Award winning series first made its appearance in 2005 and began its sixth season on September 10, 2010.

Carter Bay and Craig Thomas came up with the idea for the sitcom when they jokingly talked about making a show about their own lives and the stupid things they have done together. They created characters that are loosely based upon themselves, their friends and their family. They draw on their own memories and experiences together to come up with each episode.

How I Met Your Mother’ has been nominated for Emmys, Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. In 2010 Allison Hannigan won a People’s Choice Award for her portrayal of Lily Aldrin on the show. The series has also won four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Art Direction for a Multi-Camera Series.
How I Met Your Mother’ can be seen on CBS on Mondays at 8/7c.
