Jeff Bridges is an Academy Award winning actor for 'Crazy Heart.' The son of Lloyd Bridges, and brother to Beau Bridges, Jeff has starred in numerous defining roles in movies since the early 70's, including 'The Last Picture Show,' 'Tron,' 'The Big Lebowski,' and 'Iron Man.'

Jeff Bridges is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges and actress Dorothy Bridges. His brother, Beau Bridges, is also an actor, and have acted together in their career.

Jeff and his brother began their careers acting on their father's television shows 'Sea hunt' (1958) and the 'Lloyd Bridges Show' (1962). Jeff made his first feature film debut in 'The Last Picture Show' (1971), which earned him an Academy Award nomination.

In 2010 at the 82nd Academy Awards, Jeff Bridges won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in 'Crazy Heart' (2009) in which he portrays a washed-up country-western singer. His meeting with a journalist (played by Maggie Gyllenhaal) helps him turn his life around.

Jeff Bridges is a very talented actor, able to play a diverse variety of personalities honestly. His notable film credits include 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot' (1974), 'Tron' (1982), 'Starman' (1984), 'The Fabulous Baker Boys' (1989) 'The Fisher King' (1991), 'Fearless' (1993), 'The Big Lebowski' (1998), 'The Contender' (2000) and 'Iron Man' (2008). In 2010, had another career year, starring as Rooster Cogburn in the remake of the classic John Wayne western, 'True Grit,' and also starring in 'Tron: Legacy,' a sequel to 'Tron' twenty-eight years after the first movie.

Besides acting, Jeff Bridges is also a published photographer, cartoonist, and musician. Bridges sang and played his own music for the movie 'Crazy Heart,' even performing the title track I Don't Know live on 'The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.' Bridges also was one of the 80 musicians to sing We are the World.
