About Jennifer Lopez

Actress, singer, and TV personality Jennifer Lopez started her career on 'In Living Color' as a ''Fly Girl'' and has since moved on to being a popular singer and actress. Bit parts as a backup dancer, TV actress, and B-movie actress prepared Lopez for her future stardom. After her role in Selena earned her a Golden Globe nomination, her star continued rising in 1998, when she starred with George Clooney in Steven Soderbergh's adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel 'Out of Sight.' Her performance was critically praised. She also became the first latina actress to crack the $1 million earning barrier.

Lopez worked on her music career while continuing to star in box-office hits such as 'The Wedding Planner,' 'Angel Eyes,' 'Maid in Manhattan,' and 'The Backup Plan' with Alex O'Loughlin.

In 2010, Jennifer Lopez was announced, along with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, as a judge on the hit Fox reality competition show 'American Idol.'

Lopez has been nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording in 2000 for ''Waiting For Tonight'' and in 2001 for ''Let's Get Loud.''
