John Miller is an American journalist and a former government official. He is the former Associate Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Analytic Transformation and Technology. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Director of Public Affairs for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he was the bureau's national spokesman. Miller is also a former ABC News reporter and anchorman, perhaps best known for conducting a May 1998 interview with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan. Miller has been named a Senior Correspondent for CBS News. Miller will have a major role in the mornings on CBS News. He will report for all CBS News platforms and broadcasts, including occasionally for 60 Minutes. He was hired on November 1, 2011.
