'Jon and Kate Plus 8' was a successful reality television series that featured Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight children. After their divorce, the show's name was changed to 'Kate Plus 8.' The series ran from April 10, 2007–September 12, 2011 on TLC.

About Jon and Kate Plus 8

'Jon and Kate Plus 8' is an American reality television series which first aired in April of 2007. It then changed names to 'Kate Plus 8' following the separation and divorce of Jon and Kate Gosselin in 2010. The divorce was finalized in December of 2009.

Kate Gosselin, born Katie Irene Kreider on March 28, 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Jon Gosselin, born Jonathan Keith Gosselin on April 1, 1977 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, married on June 12, 1999. They had twin girls on October 8, 2000, Cara and Madelyn. Kate, wanting another child, went on fertility drugs in order to conceive. She then gave birth to sextuplets on May 10, 2004: Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, Leah Hope and Joel Kevin. They moved to Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania into a bigger house for the new additions to the family.

'Jon and Kate Plus 8' was first seen on Discovery Health before moving to its home on TLC. The name change to 'Kate Plus 8' occurred in 2010, and the newly named version premiered on June 6, 2010. Kate owned the family home and had primary custody of the children following the divorce. Ratings dropped for the television show following the parents' separation, and TLC announced the series' cancellation on August 15, 2011. The series finale aired on September 12, 2011.

Kate Gosselin was born and raised in Philadelphia. She has three sisters and one brother. She became a registered nurse and worked in Labor and Delivery at Reading Hospital. Kate has also written four books entitled 'Multiple Blessings' (November 1, 2008), 'Eight Little Faces' (April 2009), 'I Just Want You to Know' (April 13, 2010), and 'Love Is in the Mix' (2011). She underwent a tummy tuck and it is rumored that she had breast enhancement surgery and botox, though she denied the rumors.

Jon Gosselin, born and raised in Wyomissing, PA, is of Korean American, Welsh and Irish decent. He has two brothers and his mother was born and raised in Hawaii. Jon worked as an IT Analyst before having children and appearing on the television show. Since leaving the series, John has found it difficult to find employment. Jon also co-authored the book 'Multiple Blessings' with his then wife.
