About Kevin James

Known for: His scene-stealing turn in the movie 'Hitch' with Will Smith and his role as Doug Heffernan on 'The King of Queens.'

Kevin James began his showbiz career appearing as a stand-up comedian on various talk shows including 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' 'Late Show with David Letterman,' 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien,' 'Dennis Miller Live,' 'Ellen,' and 'Live with Regis and Kelly.'

James was named #89 on Comedy Central's list of 100 Greatest Stand Up Comedians. A friend of Ray Romano, James has guest starred in several episodes of 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' which led to the eventual development of his hit sitcom, 'The King of Queens,' which ran for nearly a decade on CBS.

In 2005, James made his film debut in the Will Smith and Eva Mendes romantic comedy 'Hitch.' Other notable films of his include 'Monster House' (2006), 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry' (2007), 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' (2009), 'Grown Ups' (2010), and 'The Dilemma' (2011).

Kevin James and his wife Steffiana gave birth to their third child and first son, Kannon Valentine James, on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. They also have two daughters, Marie and Shea.
