Kevin Spacey is an award winning American actor, producer, screen writer, and director. He was born in South Orange, New Jersey but grew up in California. He was quite the handful growing up having set his sister’s tree house on fire and getting into other mischief. He was soon sent to military school following the tree house incident and was later expelled from there. He attended Canoga Park High School where he literally got his act together, graduating valedictorian of his class. His acting career began in high school when he starred in The Sound of Music as Captain von Trapp in his senior year. He attended Julliard in New York City where he studied drama.

He became well recognized in the theater and made many television appearances. His first film appearance was in a movie called Heartburn (1986) where he played a subway thief. Other Kevin Spacey films include Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), Swimming with Sharks (1994), The Usual Suspects (1995), L.A. Confidential (1997), Se7en (1995), Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), Superman Returns (2006), Fred Claus (2007), Shrink (2009), The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009), Father of Invention (2010), Casino Jack (2010), Margin Call (2010), Inseparable (2010), and Horrible Bosses (2011).

In 1991 Kevin won a Tony Award for Best Actor in Lost in Yonkers. He has also won 2 Oscars. First Oscar was for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for The Usual Suspects (1995) and his second one for Best Actor in a Leading Role for American Beauty (1999).

In 2003 Spacey made a major career move and became Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theatre Company, in London. He committed to remaining in the post for ten years.
