Kip Moore is an American country music singer-songwriter. He is signed to MCA Nashville and has released two singles, "Mary Was the Marrying Kind" and "Somethin' 'bout a Truck". His debut album was released on April 24, 2012. Kip Moore was born in Tifton, Georgia. He began playing guitar while attending Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL, and made his first public performance at a Mellow Mushroom restaurant in Valdosta, Georgia. After college, he moved to a "little hut" in Hawaii, where he also took up backpacking and surfing. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2004, where songwriter and producer Brett James helped him sign a publishing deal. He spent four years in Nashville before signing to a record deal with MCA Nashville. Moore released his debut single "Mary Was the Marrying Kind" in early 2011. (Karlie Justus of The 9513 gave the song a "thumbs up", praising the lyrics but criticizing the "heavy-handed production".
