About Kristina DeBarge

Known For: Pop singer

Kristinia DeBarge hails from a very musical family. Her father is James DeBarge from the 1980’s musical group DeBarge. The band was comprised of her father, aunt and three uncles. It seemed only natural that Kristinia also had talent and wanted to pursue a musical career.

Kristinia began pursuing music seriously at the age of 12. In 2003, she got her first break after she performed on American Juniors,’ an American Idol’ spinoff. She didn’t finish at the top but it did help open some doors for her career. She eventually got the chance to work with the singer/producer Babyface until she was signed by Def Jam Records.

In April of 2009, Kristinia released her first single titled Goodbye. The song received mixed reviews, but still managed to reach #15 on the Billboard charts. Kristinia’s second single, Sabotage did not see the same success.

Her first album, Exposed,’ was released on July 28, 2009. She promoted the album by touring with The Circus Starring Brittany Spears’ as the opening act.
