Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joane Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986 in New York City, is a sensational pop singer, songwriter, and eccentric-fashion model. Her first album reached number one in several countries and earned her five Grammy awards. Gaga has two albums out: 'The Fame' and 'The Fame Monster,' both of which have been hugely successful. Lady Gaga's most recent album 'Born This Way' was released on May 23, 2011. She is known for her extravagant costumes, stage presence and advocacy for gay rights.

About Lady Gaga

Her stage name, ''Lady Gaga,'' comes from the Queen song ''Radio Gaga,'' which her previous manager dubbed her.

Lady Gaga won three awards at the 53rd Grammy Awards on February 13, 2011. She won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Short Form Music Video and Best Pop Vocal Performance. Gaga performed her single ''Born This Way'' after emerging from a giant plastic egg.

Gaga released the single ''Born This Way'' on February 11, 2011. The song just happened to be the 1,000th song ever to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
