Friends, guns, and hundreds of zombies...Don't forget your medpack. Valve, creators of Half-Life series, have redefined co-op shooters and reignited our fears of zombies.
Valve's venture into the world of co-op shooters has produced one of the scariest and most fun games in the genre. Unlike 'Half-Life', which is a story-based shooter game, 'Left 4 Dead' doesn't have a detailed narrative. All you know is it's the zombie apocalypse, you and three other survivors are together and searching for a safe place.
The biggest feature that sets 'Left 4 Dead' apart from the others is the adaptive A.I. called the Director. Depending on whether the level is too easy or too hard the Director will adjust the zombie spawns. Also with DLC and rotating play styles such as fighting with only chainsaws makes this the most supported Valve game second only to Team Fortress 2.
The original hit game has been followed up by a sequel, Left 4 Dead 2. The second game follows a different set of survivors and their attempt to escape from a New Orleans-esque setting. Multiple DLC packs for both L4D and L4D2 have been released that have added new game modes and campaign levels.
