Lil' Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. on 9/27/82 in New Orleans, is an American rapper and actor. Wayne joined the Hot Boys and began releasing albums with them and even went multi-platinum with their album "Guerrilla Warfare." In 1999 he released his first solo album and earned a lot of respect throughout the rapping community. Since then, Wayne has released several albums and even had two number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 list. On 3/9/10, Wayne was sentenced to a year in jail for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007.

Known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is a rapper and actor. Lil Wayne joined the Hot Boys, along with his fellow members, Juvenile, B.G., and Turk to create their debut album 'Get It How U Live!'. Lil Wayne gained success with group's multi-platinum album 'Guerrilla Warfare', released in 1999. Also in 1999, Lil Wayne released his solo album 'Tha Block Is Hot' at age 17.
Lil Wayne reached new hieghts with his 'Tha Carter' trilogy releasing 'Tha Carter' in 2004, 'Tha Carter II' in 2005 and 'Tha Carter III' in 2008, which sold over a million copies in its first week. Following 'Tha Carter III', he secured eight Grammy Awards nominations. He has had two number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 ('Lollipop' featuring Static Major and 'Down' with Jay Sean). Lil Wayne just released his first rock album titled 'Rebirth' in 2010.
Lil Wayne was sentenced on March 9, 2010 to a year in jail for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007.
