Love Poem

Love Poem

A love poem can be simple or elaborate, but the most important thing is that it be sincere. Write it yourself, or let some of the most famous poets of the ages do it for you. It is difficult for a girl to resist a love poem.

About Love Poem

Love poems have been around for centuries as a way for people to express their feelings for someone special. Sometimes they were given directly to the loved one, sometimes given anonymously, sometimes they were never given at all and the love remained unrequited. The love poems may have been written in one of the traditional formats like a sonnet, or the more modern free verse.

One of the most famous love poems is by Lord Byron.

She Walks in Beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Of course poems do not have to be full of fancy words. Short and sweet can work just as well, if it comes from the heart. A classic example of that is Roses are Red.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet;
And so are you.

If you really want to impress a girl, write a poem for her. It really doesn't have to be complicated, it doesn't even have to rhyme. The fact that you tried, and wrote it just for her will win you lots of points in the game of love.
