Make-up Art Cosmetics, better know as MAC, is a brand of cosmetics. MAC was originally designed for professional make-up artists but are now sold to customers worldwide. The first MAC store opened up in 1991 in Greenwich Village, New York. MAC beauty products come in a large assortment of colors and tones and hold color for long periods of time.
MAC was founded in 1984 in Toronto, Canada by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo. They were both involved in the fashion and beauty industry and wanted to design a make-up that would be durable and long-lasting for photo shoots. MAC prohibits animal testing, extending that policy to ingredient suppliers as well.
MAC cosmetics have a cutting edge style with vivid colors and trendy shades. Each season, MAC launches a new palette that is current with trends and seasonal color. Some celebrities that have endorsed MAC products include Fergie, Lady Gaga, Boy George, Pamela Anderson, Lisa Marie Presley and Debbie Harry.
It was announced on January 28, 2011 that the DC Comics' heroine Wonder Woman will be teaming up with MAC to create a Wonder Woman make-up collection that will be available in the spring of 2011.
