Mary Elizabeth Ellis (born May 11, 1979 in Laurel, Mississippi) is an American actress and writer best known for her recurring role as 'The Waitress' on the FX comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She also starred in the NBC sitcom Perfect Couples. Ellis has appeared on a number of television series, including Cold Case, Without a Trace, House M.D., Happy Endings, New Girl, and Reno 911!. In 2008, she wrote and portrayed the lead role of Olive in the independent film A Quiet Little Marriage. Ellis and Artemis Pebdani (Artemis on Always Sunny) wrote and starred together in the stage show 'Mother May I Dance With Mary Jane's Fist?: A Lifetime Original Play' at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles.
