Midori is a bright, green-coloured, muskmelon-flavored cordial made by Suntory. It is manufactured in Japan, Mexico, and France, though it was made only in Japan until 1987. It was first concocted in 1978, with a launch party held in New York's famous Studio 54. Midori is usually 20_21% alcohol by volume. The name comes from midori, the Japanese word for 'green'.
