Montana

The state of Montana is found in the northwestern United States and is bordered by Canada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Idaho. A third of the state is comprised of mountains of the Rocky Mountain range and the remainder is prairie lands. The climate of the state differs; the west sees mild summers and harsh winters while the eastern portion can have warmer summers and mild winters. The average temperatures of the state range from 86°F to 8°F.

About Montana

Montana is the perfect getaway for those who love nature. The mountains, geysers, hot springs and vast plains are spectacular. You are also very likely to see amazing wildlife such as grizzly bears, wolves, bison and mountain goats. The state offers so much that there are six tourism regions: Yellowstone Country, Glacier Country, Missouri River Country, Russell Country, Cluster Country and Goldwest Country. Another big part of Montana’s draw is the Native American population. The state is home to eight Native American Reservations, many of which invite visitors to participate in their customs and learn more about their culture.

Montana Territory was admitted as a State on November 8, 1889. The state’s official nickname is The Treasure State, named as such for its rich mineral reserves. It is home to gold, silver and sapphire mines. The state bird is the Western Meadowlark and the state tree is the Ponderosa Pine. The state motto is ''Oro y Plata'' (Spanish) which translates to ''Gold and Silver.''
