Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat

A reboot for the long running series of fighting games, Mortal Kombat (2011) brings HD graphics and new characters along for the ride. Kratos from the God of War series is included as a playable character in the PS3 version, but the Xbox version does not have a unique character. The game released on April 19, 2011 to strong reviews.

About Mortal Kombat

In its original release on the SNES and Sega Genesis consoles it was known as a graphic and brutally violent video game where users were prompted to 'Finish Him!' which allowed gamers to push a series of buttons on the controller to perform a special animated sequence where the game characters would destroy the opponent in a very inhumane way. Since that 1992 release, The Mortal Kombat series has released 10 more fighting games, 3 adventure games, 2 movies, and an animated TV series and a live action TV series, both lasting for one season.

The newest version returns to the original 'Mortal Kombat' name and is available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is a 2.5D game with all new game modes and features. The gore will be as prevalent and shocking as ever as it introduces a new 'x-ray' damage mode.
