The Oldsmobile brand was part of the General Motors family of auto brands. It bit the dust in 2004 when the last Oldsmobile rolled off the assembly line in that bit the dust in Lansing, Michigan.

About Oldsmobile

Oldsmobile was one of the oldest brands of motor vehicles, lasting 107 years. It began in 1897 in Lansing Michigan and was founded by Ransom E. Olds. During its existence it produced over 35 million cars. The Curved Dash Oldsmobile was the first mass produced automobile in history.

In 1908, General Motors purchased the failing Oldsmobile Company, adding it to their line of vehicles. Throughout its lifetime Oldsmobile has produced many models. The Cutlass Ciera was one of its most popular models during its run and had received many awards such as Top-Ranked American-Made Car and Safe Car of the Year. Some other popular models include:

In 2004 Oldsmobile produced its last car. On April 29, 2004, the last day of production, workers finished the Alero GLS 4-door sedan. It was signed by all the assembly line workers and is now on display at the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum located in Lansing, Michigan.
